This is my second pet stroller, and the first one (made by KittyWalk) was a really good product, until my cat grew way to large. I have a Siberian Forest Cat. They grow very big, like a Maine Coon or Norwegian Forest Cat. People often mistake him for a dog due to his size. My handsome fella stands 16 inches tall, and in the BestPet stroller he has head room to spare, which is good because he's still growing. Most pet strollers on the market won't give you enough head room if you have a large breed kitty. The prior stroller was only 12 inches tall. In the BestPet stroller, my guy has plenty of room to stand, sit, turn around, and lie down comfortably. If you have a 20 lb. animal, you need the BestPet, because other strollers just aren't anything like as roomy in the passenger compartment. The only possible disadvantage is that the stroller is still a bit big when you fold it down to put in the trunk of your car, but well worth the trunk space if your furry friend is big.

It is a good product overall, and I have to say the shipping was fast, I got it a day sooner than the earliest estimated date. So that made me very happy. I only have a few minor problems with it.The first was that one of the wheels didn't fit properly because the joint on the frame had a manufacturer defect which makes one of the front wheels very hard to rotate, but I was able to use a Dremel tool to make a groove inside the wheel socket which gave the assembly the extra room it needed to move more freely. I feel that this is not a common problem from the other reviews I read, so just my bad luck to get one with such a defect. The other note of concern (albeit not a huge one) is the small gaps where the zippers start and stop, a small animal (especially a cat) would be able to worm his way through them. I have pictures uploaded to the product page where you can see what I'm talking about. My cat is an adult, but not huge, and he was able to get most of the way out of one of these gaps. He didn't try to do it, though, until I was picking the stroller up to carry it up the stairs. He sat it in fine during the walk. I am going to keep it and I am very excited to continue using it. My cat was nervous on our first trip, but he was also interested in the sights and sounds. I feel with time he'll come to really enjoy our walks together. I leave the stroller set up in the house and he likes to lounge and play in it.

This product (it's the same as the identical product in umpteen other colors, although make sure you've got the 3 wheel version vs the 4 wheel, if that's what you mean to order) is very well-made for the price- I expected a cheaply made Chinese product and was pleasantly surprised. It's not terribly heavy duty, but it's adequate for what I need and the assembly work is good, with seams properly straight and no weird gaping or pulling along the zipper as with some cheap soft crates, which was my primary concern. I bought it in Purple and the color is somewhat lighter than shown- on my monitor, it's #CC66FF in hexcode. It arrived in less than 48 hours (impressive!) and shipped within 3 of me placing my order! One thing which isn't mentioned is that the bottom is reinforced lightly, and it comes with a removable quilted pad, which is faux fleece on one side. The raincover is just a cheap piece of vinyl with a couple of seams and I'm not sure it would actually allow enough airflow to really be safe. My only complaint would be that the instructions are awful. Like most instruction sheets, they appear to have been written by someone who didn't have access to the illustrations that would be used (and the illustrations were drawn without reference to the instructions) and are just pretty weak in general. There's a clip you've got to pull out of each axle (for the rear wheels) to pop them onto the axles, and then reinsert after they're in place. The hubcaps snap on over that. It took less than 2 minutes to figure that out and was easy enough to do, but this isn't mentioned on the instructions. I also can't figure out how, for th elife of me, to fold this thing back up. However, I drive a station wagon and it WILL fit in my car unfolded. I bought it primarily for my dog to have a crate that was easy to take to ringside at trials and shows without having to carry it or wheel out the entire crate dolly, and this will do nicely. |
