These are the best made pom pon toys in my opinion because they do not fall apart when my cat carries them around and plays with them. They are difficult to find in my area, so I was pleased to find them online.

Good enough for a Cat that plays like a Dog., February 5, 2011

I thought I had lost all hope ever since the grocery stores in my area stopped selling these in the pet section. These Pom Pom’s are durable and yet fuzzy, soft with a welcoming pattern to any pet, yet with a weight (not too heavy, not too light) so that it can take flight when thrown across a room.
When the customer is a very picky cat who eagerly follows the pom pom no matter where it goes and carries it back to you in its mouth only to run after it when its been thrown again (he trained us to play fetch with him, not the other way around), we are all thankful. He even brings them to bed with him.

My cats love this toy!, May 31, 2007

This toy is one of the best items I have ever bought for my cats. They’re pretty finicky and they haven’t taken to other toys or cat items. This toy they love. They both perk up whenever I bring it out and are willing to play with each other during this time (they typically stay as far away from each other as possible). They love the noise it makes in the air which is supposed to mimic the sound of a bird flying.

I recommend putting it away in the closet because the cats will destroy the bird attachment fairly quickly. They love tearing it to pieces on its own. I also recommend getting the value pack since I’ve already had to attach a replacement feather and it’s only been about 2 months since my purchase. (This might be because I didn’t put it in the closet.)

I have no regrets and I will be always purchasing this toy for my cats and any future cats that come into my life.

Great toy – but fiberglass splinters dangerous to cats and humans!, October 12, 2009

We recently purchased a “Da Bird” cat toy, as it was recommended on the ASPCA website. We’ve had the toy for about 1 week and used it approximately a dozen times with our two 1.5 year old cats. We were initially very pleased with the toy – our cats loved it and we were excited to find a simple and affordable toy that provided so much enjoyment and exercise.

However, last night as I was using Da Bird with our cats, I felt some sharp fibrous needles on my hand where I was holding the wand. Upon closer inspection it was apparent that the wand, made of fiberglass, was splintering and had left hundreds of shards of fiberglass in the palm of my hand and fingertips. The shards are painful and tiny. Removal was only possible with tweezers and a flashlight, even then only the largest shards could be extracted from my hand.

Needless to say, we were quite alarmed by the hazard Da Bird was causing, not only to humans, but more seriously, to our cats. One of our cats is especially fond of playing with and chewing on the wand end of other `fishing pole’ type cat toys we have had. Had he gotten a paw or his mouth on the splintering fiberglass wand, he would have been in serious danger.

Upon doing a simple Google search of “Da Bird fiberglass splinter” we came across several product review sites and online cat forums where people had suffered from the fiberglass splinters, however these warnings are not obvious when buying the item for the first time. Given that Da Bird’s manufacturer, Go Cat, prides itself on “Quality interactive cat toys handcrafted in the USA”, we highly recommend that they issue a warning to resellers of the toy, post a warning on their website and immediately change to a more safe and durable material to prevent serious injuries to cats and humans. We have also contacted the ASPCA and Go-Cat (the maker) in hopes that they will take steps to improve the safety of this product.

Not always a duck, June 7, 2011

I ordered from this page, but instead of a duck, I got what looks like a spider. The cat likes it, though, so no big deal, but of you’re particular about wanting a duck, be warned.

Awesome toy with few drawbacks, February 10, 2012

I have four cats and am always looking for good toys for them. Because one of my cats likes to eat things that are non edible, any sort of toy that has strings, ribbons, plastic crinkles, or small pieces is a no go. Unfortunately that doesn’t leave many options.

This toy has been a great addition though! I filled it with the catnip provided and all four cats love it. My cat with the strange eating habits particularly enjoys playing with it and with throw it around and pounce on it for quite awhile. He is 19 pounds and usually pretty lazy so I’m extra grateful for the exercise it provides.

The only drawback is that the poor duck is looking really ratty after only less than a week of play. I’m not sure if my cats are just intense players but the catnip has kind of stained the stomach area of the duck and it is looking pretty worn out, though the construction is still holding strong. Of course this draw back doesn’t matter at all to my cats but just be aware that it might not be the most attractive toy after a few sessions of rough play.

I will definitively try other Kong cat toys!

Once they figure it out – its great and amusing!, May 2, 2011

Took a while to teach Louie how to use this – even though he is a HIGHLY food motivated cat. I let him go hungry for a while and then sat with him and would hit it to it would spill out the food. Now that he has gotten the hang of it, he loves it! I have other food balls, but I really like this one because it is infinitely adjustable – I feed my cat EVO and the kibbles are very small. With this ball I can set the width just larger than one kibble size so he really has to go at it to get the food out. Previously Louie would gorge all his food at once, often so fast he would vomit – now the same measured portion lasts hours. I have also filled it up with food and left for two days at a time – it makes sure he uses effort to eat instead of just for convenience. Highly recommended.

Our cat loves it, September 22, 2010

Our cat is a little overweight, and sometimes she eats so fast that she gets sick, so I got the Egg-Cersizer to see if it would slow her down a little. She’s around eight years old, so I didn’t know if it would be hard for her to get used to something new (it comes with instructions on how to ease your cat into using it), but she got into it right away. It’s adjustable, so you can make it harder or easier for kitty to get the treats out. She has fun with it, and now she can only eat one bite at a time. This is exactly what we needed.

Worked as advertised, November 16, 2010

Easy to fill, easy to use, and works as advertised. I docked a star because it’s not very heavy-duty — the friend who suggested this product to me once dropped hers from a standing position and it cracked. Also, don’t get this if you’re not a fan of Easter egg hunts. You’ll need to play a game of find-the-egg at every feeding time.

We used to practice free-feeding, but when we tried to put our two cats on a diet, the super-fat one ate nearly all of the food (and gained weight), while the slightly-overweight cat dropped weight much too quickly. With these eggs, we feed twice a day and can keep much better tabs on which cat is eating what. Fat kitty lost a noticeable amount of weight within the first two weeks. I’m actually really looking forward to her next vet appointment! The cats also get much more engaged and interested in feeding time.

Bonus: my husband used to clean up cat puke almost every single day. He’s hardly had to do it once since we transitioned the cats to these feeding eggs. Definitely worth the investment!
